ok champion owners..
(although i have a ranger)
my dad has a 193 year 1999
the front flaher by zercom has taken a rest (will not work)
i believe they have been bought by humming bird.. (zercom)
any chance of servicability? (zercom)
and he is wanting to replace the unit..(up front by trolling motor 3 3/8'' hole)
and the vexilar 3 color is pricey..ebay seems hit and miss...
suggestion with a slight ribbing on the ranger please...

I would do a couple of things.... First, I have a Vexilar, and love it. Its the FL8 and not the in-dash model. The FL10 i believe is what they call it and it is very nice. I think if he's sold on the in-dash, that's the way to go. Be the great kid that you are and buy it for him for Fathers Day! Or, if he want a direct replacement, post that in the WTB Board or Electronics Forum. C & O has some Zercom units I believe. Another idea would be to plug the hole, and run a Lowrance 510 up there. Then he can run it in "Flasher Mode" whenever he wanted to. To the plug the hole, Mar-Lan has the hole plugs.

I have a 1996 champ and it had a front flasher. It was never used but not being a flasher kind of guy, I took it out. I will not be home for about a week, so I can't check to see what model it is.
