Re: Minnkota Fortrex? (B.C.)
They are brand new on the market and very similar to the Maxxum Pro motors...
Re: Minnkota Fortrex? (B.C.)
I'm looking at getting one too, but I can't find anyone that has one who also has soft enough water to try it out. I'll be watching this thread. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/pimp2.gif
Re: Minnkota Fortrex? (B.C.)
I put the 80#, 24V Fortrex on my 203.. I've been a long time motorguide user, had 2 on the boat until 1 was stolen from the bow, was time to upgrade and wanted to give MinnKota a shot. The motor/mount is relatively quiet, power savings is second to none, lift assist feature is a really nice, too. The Fortrex mount (yoke) was recalled initally, but Minnkota handled it well and serviced me with kid gloves, outstanding customer support from those folks. I don't have any negative feedback to share about the Fortrex motor/mount, other than at speed, air moving thru the mount creates a whistling noise, likely air moving thru the openings on the upper part of the mount. Also, Minnkota is generous with cable length, maybe too generous, but hard to complain about having more of anything these days. Good Luck!
