I have a 98 evinrude 225 (E225STLECS). Last week while at the lake the check engine light came on. I shut the motor off and then restart it and it ran for about 10 minutes and the light cam on again. Not sure what could be wrong since the motor is running great. The owners manual says to check the fuel flow but everything seems to be fine. What do I need to look for or should I just take it to the dealer?

A check engine light on a carb motor is from a fuel vaccum issue. You have a Fuel Restriction.
I had the same problem with my 98 175 Ficht. I was a glitch in the EMM,saying there was water in the fuel, but after taking it to my mech he verified it was a faulse code, and not to worry about it.

The check engine light on your ficht is controled by the ecu and works different then the model number supplied by the original poster.
