Re: 183cx - 150HO Etec Setup (Dave Young)
Here ya go, Dave!!!
Motor/pad height....
1. Put trailer on a level surface. Level as in carpenter's level.
2. Level boat pad, using same level under the rear of the boat..lowest part of hull...forward of the drain holes....
3. put same level on the cavitation plate of motor and, using trim button, level it.
4. Measure distance from pad to ground.
5. Measure distance from point of nose cone (prop shaft) to ground.
The difference between the 2 measurements is "prop to pad" measurement and is critical in determining performance.

Dave any numbers yet , tried the Tempest Plus 23 and did not like it rpms were up there but I was given up speed , grabbed the water good but hole shot was missing and not as much lift as the Raker 2 / 22 . So for now I will stay will the later , and I have raised the motor 1/2 inch see what happens will keep you informed

No numbers just yet Champ1955.
Will be testing later this week with the 22 raker II.
Will keep you posted.

another way to check pad to prop shaft height is:
I ended up using a level to level boat/bottom pad ( NOTE!!!: Watch using the very edge of the bottom pad to level, because the small "hook" messes ya up on an accurate angle/level measurement. Level about 1" from the edge of pad, where the hook is not present). Then used level to level motor, placed on lower unit edge fin.
From there, I used a yard stick (with level on it, to level) running from bottom of pad out (not placing yardstick on the very bottom of pad "hook", but placing it against back edge of transom/pad) out to the prop. I then measured distance from center of prop shaft to top of yard stick. measured about 1/32" short of 4".
Did it this way because I could not find a perfectly level place for boat/trailer.
