TEMPE MARINE NOW CLOSED AFTER 31 YEARS

Tempe Marine shut its doors July 31, 2008. I have not heard the real reason why, only thing that I could think would be slow boat sales. I have known Jerry Gusman, Cary Serklew and a few other reps who did a fine job in promoting Champion however the weak economy probably helped throe the Final towel in. I am sad today and am obviously no longer a Pro Staffer. I do want everyone to know that they did push Pro Staff guys to be in brand new boats but was not mandatory. I will be purchasing a new Champion as soon as I see that the economy will hold a little stronger. I will be ordering a 210 with a Mercury 250 Pro XS. That is my goal. I am very deeply sadened by this and Lea was nice enough to let me know. I was never TOLD ABOUT them parting with Champion a year ago and am very upset. i think that they did not want us to know but I was never never told that. I do not know what to think.. Thanks to all of you. I will try to go to the Champion Owners tourney in Sept. I have a new son and i will be busy. I feel like a complete IDIOT and I hope that I did not ruin my rep here. I was a Pro staffer and they kept it up even though they stopped dealing Champion a year ago. Again I apologize for telling all of you I was still Pro Staff status. I am no longer as of last month i guess LOL/.

As you mentioned in your IM, Open Throttle now carries Champion out there. I have heard very complimentary things about them, and am glad they have joined the Champion family!

Sadly, the Vegas Owner's Tourney has been cancelled, due to economical and environmental concerns. However, there are several others, including one in N. Calif which might interest you... Tempe went out of biz because the new owner lost all his employees and they ticked off a bunch of customers with bad service. I suspected they would go under after they had an inventory auction last december. All of their mechanics quit at the same time after that. I have heard nothing but good things about the new Champion dealer Open Throttle Marine. Good luck.

I live a couple of blocks away and the had been going down hill for the last 2 years, especially after new management took over.

Don't worry about feeling bad. It's all good. As Lea mentioned, you may try Open Throttle Marine for your Champ needs. Unfortunately, they are on the opposite side of the metropolis for me and it is difficult to get over to see their operation. So far, the first impression is positive from other people that have dealt with them.

No they are not. They still have not sold the 3 Champs that are still sitting there. You must live at Lake Las Vegas. Nice 210 by the way. Lets go fishing would love to ride in your Champion....

I sold my 2008 210. So I'm boatless right now. I'm looking for someone to take me fishing. I have a 2009 210 and 202 on order. It's going to be a long 8 weeks.
