I picked her Friday and finished breaking her in today. I don't think I have her set up just right only got 71.7 by myself and 68.7 loaded. I will play with it some more this week. Any info on set up would be great. I finally got to see what the everbody has been saying because I have never rode in a somoother boat than this one.

If that is a 198, you are close to dialed in! Just need a tad of tweaking.... I get 71.9 with 2 folks and full load max!. What prop and what prop to pad?
It is a 198 and I have 25 Tempest. I am not sure about the prop to pad. Dealer set up and said he thought he knew about where it needed to be.
I'm running a 26p tempest Plus...large pvs holes... at 3.75 below pad.... (I hit rev limiter with 25 p) Do measure and see what your prop to pad is.....
The 26 tempests are notoriusly bad out of the box. I tried 3 before getting the one I have now...
Do you have hydraulic JP? I ask only because it is easiest to adjust. And watch water pressure!!!
Thanks for the info. No I didn't get hyd. jackplate for the first time in years. I am wishing I would have now.

You can still adjust the plate. Main thing is you have one of the best of the best!!!!!

Great looking boat. I love my '06 198. Tempest 25 without any prop work...yet. I am running a 225 ProXS, and top speed with just myself and my gear is 73.9. No hydrolic plate. get ya a 26p temp plus but watch what you get...Merc has more than one mold and it normally takes a few times tryin diffrent 26p props to get the right one put large holes in the PVS and start checkin H2O press and go from there http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
