my cajun is leaking water
My 1997 Rajun Cajun has been leaking water. I found a gap under side rubber railing around boat from passenger seat to rear corner of boat is about 1/4" wide. I think that may be too wide for silicone. Has anybody else experienced a problem like this? Has anybody found any known leaks on their cajun if so where? This is the only suspect place that I have found for a water leak.
Re: my cajun is leaking water (scotts)
My Paul Elias had some of the caulking come out around the deck and the hull, but I doubt that's where you're getting water leaking in. It would pretty much have to be an area that is normally underwater to get any significant ammount.
I'd look around the drain plug area, and all the lines, pumps and livewells first. Dry the bilge out good, then sprinkle some baby powder around the bilge areas and put the boat in the water. Look for wet baby powder.
The leaks I found in mine were always a cracked livewell pump.
Re: my cajun is leaking water (CajunBass)
Thanks. I did find that the livewell pump was cracked. It is the type from bass pro shops that has a housing you can take the motor out of and just replace the motor. The motor housing had a couple big cracks in it. I will inspect the housing for it too.
