The carpet in my boat has a melted/burned spot about 2" in diameter. Possibly from water bottle left out in sun. What would be the best way to fix this? It was like this when I bought it. Obviously I don't want to recarpet whole boat. I also don't want it to look like a patch job.
you could go under a console or another hidden spot and shave off some carpet pieces. Just the pile off it. then put some super glue etc in the burnt spot and sprinkle the cut pile in the wet glue. Not a great fix but may look a lil better than what you got going on. Never done it on area that big have done it on cigarette burns a few times
