Blazer 190 Pro-V Question
Hey guys, I'm in the process of buying a 2009 Blazer 190 Pro-V and I have a question. I am adding the tandem axle trailer and I have had many people tell me different things.
I have been told that it doesn't distribute the weight properly and therfore doesn't pull and ride good. I also was told it looks awesome and pulls great so I'm not sure what to do. It's going to cost about $1100 to add it so my question is, for the owners of the 190's with a tandem, is it worth it or not?
Comments? Thanks guys!
Re: Blazer 190 Pro-V Question (alabamabassman)
Pulls better than a single axle any day. I would not have anything else.
Re: Blazer 190 Pro-V Question (GE Blazer)
I had a 190 with a single axle and never had an issue. Dual axles look better, especially with stainless fenders, and they have an added safety measure to them.
Re: Blazer 190 Pro-V Question (alabamabassman)
I have a 190 with single axle no problems at all. But I have also owned boats with dual axles and they do pull better. What I do like about the single axle is that if your space limited the single axle is much easier to move around.

They are easier to move around.
Re: Blazer 190 Pro-V Question (alabamabassman)
I think you have to ask :how many miles do I tow each year, do I have enough room to freely move a dual axle trailer, price difference matters or doesn't matter.
The more miles you tow the bigger the need for a dual axle. A single axle is much easier to maneuver in a restricted space.
I have had both types of trailers. I now have a 190 on a single axle with the folding tongue option. I have a storage space problem. Until this year I towed 7-8,000 miles yearly for the past 7 years. I replaced my original tires last month. I have had 1 flat in this time and other than that, no problems. There are a lot of 19 and 20 ft. bass boats out there being towed on single axle trailers.
Re: Blazer 190 Pro-V Question (Blazer63)
When I bought my 202 with a dual axle I still had my 18 ft fish/ski Procraft for a while, which only had a single. I hadn't pulled the Procraft in 6 months when I took it out to sell it...I couldn't believe how much rougher it was to pull that single axle then it was on my dual axle. Felt like I had a stage coach attached to the back of my Tahoe in comparison to when I pull my Blazer.
Re: Blazer 190 Pro-V Question (alabamabassman)
I really want the tandem axle because it looks awesome. It cost a little more but I think it's worth it.
There are two dealers near me and one says the tandem looks great and pulls great and the other dealer says the tandem axle pulls horrible because it doesn't distribute the weight because of the length. We're talking $35k, I want to be sure the tandem will be fine before I buy it.
Comments?
Does anyone have a 190 Pro-V with a tandem axle? If so, how do you like it and would you recommend it?
Re: Blazer 190 Pro-V Question (alabamabassman)
I have a 180 Pro-V on a tandem and it pulls great. I would tell the dealer you want the tandem and to fix it if the balance isn't right. That's there job!
Re: Blazer 190 Pro-V Question (alabamabassman)
I have a single but would much prefer the dual if I had the choice http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/pimp2.gif .
Re: Blazer 190 Pro-V Question (BEEZER)
Do you have any pictures of your boat, I would like to see what it looks like. I've only seen the 202 and 210 on tandems.
I'd like to see what a 190 looks like on a tandem but can't find a pic as of yet.
@BlackBlazer, how does you boar run with the 200? What's your top speed? Finally, how does your 190 with the 200 handle rough water?

Here is a pic of Hank Wink's 190 with a dual axle trailer.

I pull my 190 on a tandem axle. I love it.
Re: Blazer 190 Pro-V Question (alabamabassman)
Mine was on BBC from the previous owner, but it's been taken off. It will be a couple weeks before I can get it on here. Im having some pad work done and the boats not on the trailer.

Thanks for that picture, that confirms I'm getting it. That looks sweet, the colors of the boat with the tandem. Looks good, I don't care how it pulls, that looks sweet. Thanks!

Re: Blazer 190 Pro-V Question (alabamabassman)
My setup runs low 70's gps with 2 man T-load year round (10" jp, propshaft 1 1/2" below pad, spinning a 26" Trophy @ 5800-6000 rpm). Large Tug and Crew boat wakes can be difficult, but overall decent ride in light to moderate chop. This boat works well for the style of fishing I do down in SE Louisiana. Make the deal, you won't regret it. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Blazer 190 Pro-V Question (alabamabassman)
I have a question for all you Blazer owners. If the money is right, is the 202 with a 225 ProXS recommended over the 190 with a 200 Optimax?
I know the 202 is bigger and faster but is it worth the extra few thousand dollars to you?
I want some suggestions/comments from current owners so I'll know what boat is best for the money. You can't take the sale back so I'm trying to make SURE I get what I want and what I pay for.
Thanks!
