Re: The goal of 100! (BEEZER)
100 MPH in a 20 FT boat is tough. The HP HAS to be there and the set up HAS to be right. If you don't have both, then it will never happen. Good luck. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif

This whole thing is going to take a long time. I got 4 hrs on the motor now and I'm just starting to lean on her a bit. It's not even close yet though, it's gona take perfect weather and conditions for it to do triple digits with batterys and TM!!!

Re: The goal of 100! (Ricky196)
First things first! "This is an 18 footer"
Rebel it's suppose to put out 270-275, but the powers not there. To me its more like a pro max at about 245. It has a timing problem where 2 cylinders are running high and I have to keep it retarded until I figure out the problem. Its gona take all the bells and whistles to get it there and I'm not sure I'm willing to spend the money and take the chance of blowing it up. I already have ALOT in it now. I ran 84 a couple days ago in the heat of the day 20 gals., tackle, and normal fishing load, running 1/4 above the pad, so it's pretty fast now. This winter it should run right at 90 setup the same way. I know I can come up cause I've ran it 1 inch above before with a different motor but I had more prop slip. Right now I'm running at 8% slip at 1/4 above and it handles best there all around. I just don't see it running 100.
Re: The goal of 100! (BEEZER)
Yeah, it is going to take some serious HP to get to 100 loaded and I bet that thing is fun to drive now. I would like to see GE put a real go fast prop on his to see if he could make it.
Re: The goal of 100! (BEEZER)
Oh yeah, I forgot, I thought you were running a 202. How much does that 18Â Blazer weigh?
Re: The goal of 100! (Basswipe)
I haven't truely weighed it. It's supose to weigh 1100, but I don't know. My first goal was to run 90 two people with fishing gear and 2-1/2 tanks of gas. I have broke eighty already. It's just so hard to tell right now it's 95 degrees and 85% humidity, it seems like, every day. It still feels like to me the things running on five cylinders even though I know it's not. I've been told to wait until the winter and its true hp will come out.
It drives great to me, at eighty the transom pops straight up and it airs out on the pad. From then on it runs flat and very high and stable.

Re: The goal of 100! (BEEZER)
Is the pad nice and straight? Edges sharp? Tow be at 100 you will have to be 1.5'' above or higher with a large wheel. What gearcase are you running? How many rpms have you turned it to? I have a bud that run a striped 190 pro v with a stock 260 to 98 gps

Ain't gonna happen...LOL
Re: The goal of 100! (GE Blazer)
The port side strake at the pad has some bad flawes five chips to be exact with crappy patches. Other than that it lookes good http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/embarassed.gif . Thats going to be a month long project to fix after tournaments are over.
I'm running a 28 bullet cut chopper. Stock gearcase with bob's cone 1.87 gear
turned 6400 @ 83.8 1/4 inch above the pad.
My problem is this motor should be turning 7500. We just haven't figured out the problem yet.
Re: The goal of 100! (BEEZER)
jack it up an 1'' higher and see what it does
Re: The goal of 100! (BEEZER)
