I was wondering on a allison does a light weight fly wheel make a differents?
when the fly wheel is lighten does the rotating assm. need to be balance?

On my Merc 250 XS, I just popped the flywheel off with a puller and disconnected the ECM and sent both to Eric Simon. He did his magic, sent them back to me and I reinstalled both. Hard to say that Ive noticed a difference but it certainly didnt hurt anything (other than my wallet). This was about 3 years ago... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif
I'm suprised you did not noticed an improvement,
was there a diiferent in idle quality and acceleration after the install?

They spin up faster and take presure off of the upper bearing. more power i say not
was the improvement in acceleration noticeable
