ok allison guys, need some info

I am looking at a xb 2003 with a 280 ros ss. I sold my 20xd bullet last fall and bought a harley and i am fixing to get me another boat. My questions are, how does the 2003 fish? I have seen some pics but not really sure where the rod storage and tackle storage are is? How hard is it to drive a allison? Is it something that with seat time you just get the hang of it? That is how it was with the bullet. How does the allison take rough water not 4 footers or nothing just a windy day. Just looking for some general info on the boat as far as fishing. I know the motor is stout but not really sure about how it does on gas? I fish some tournaments not every weekend but maybe 2 or so a month but i do alot of fishing and take the girlfriend out with me a bunch as well. What kind of speeds am i looking at with this rig? Thanks in advance i am sure yall will help me a bunch.

You are gonna be real happy with the 2003, I have a 2002, but have had had friends with the 03, you should expect to see 100mph plus with the 280, with some twiking should do more, my best friend fished tournaments and was well pleased with it, I think you will be pleased.

Shook gave you good advice.
It will take you very little time to learn how to drive an Allison after owning a 20' Bullet. They are different but you already know about not over trimming and how to correct chine walk with steering input. Just take your time learning what it wants just like you did your Bullet.
The ride is second to none in a one to two foot chop.

I've fished out of an XB03 for the last 6+ yrs. I love the way they fish. If you normally carry a bass pro warehouse full of tackle, you may need to thin it out a little. But for the way i fish (normally run n gun type fishing), it's great. The wind protection is incredible.

Great boat.......I've had mine now since 1999 and I have really enjoyed it. I don't fish tournamens but my wife and I do fish a fair amount. The boat does many thins very well....fishing, pulling skiers and tubers, cruising with 5 people, etc. Not many boats out there are as versatile and those that may come close, are not equal in my opinion to the build quality that has become an Allison standard.

Ditto to what above said. I have the two dropdown bins in the front and they hold all my fishing stuff. I'm a very plain vanilla fisherman. The storage in the rear is probably the largest in the industry(no kiddding). The rod box is fine, wind protection is unreal and the ride in any water will be a lil better than your 20' bullet was. It's the most versatile boat available in a 20' package.
