Thinking about a allison, need help!
Ok fellas, im getting me a boat in the within the month, im am so torn between a allison and a bullet you couldnt even understand, im going to be doing more fishing than racing but i want to get there quick! My Dad has a 21XD Bullet and its pretty stout, if i was to get one it would be the 20 footer! Whats the pros and cons between the boats? Im going to post the same thing on the bullet fourm, its just such a HARD decision, also how does the allison fish, how does it take ruff water? Thanks fellas!!!!

If youre set on a 20' boat and youre a fisherman, I would opt for the Bullet. If you can move up to a 21'+ boat and youre a tournament fisherman, I highly recommend the 2 seat BasSport Pro.
Ive owned an XB2003 and I LOVED it...but it didnt fit my fishing needs.

I appreciate the response, yea i was kind of figuering the allison might not be as good as the bullet on room and fishing abilities IMO, but any more opinions and help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

I have a XB2002 and I love it, but if I really was into fishing I would go with a Bullet or look for an older Allison XTB( I couldn't see buying a new XB21 even though they are super fine) just wouldn't pay that much for a new boat. You can fish out of my 02 but it isn't set up for it as well as a Bullet IMO. The older XTB's in my opinion is the most bang for the buck.
Good Luck

Re: Thinking about a allison, need help! (22R)
I have had 3 bullets. One 17' and two 20'.
Now I have an XB2003 and I will have to say that as far as speed and all around handling and ride the Allison has the Bullet beat hands down. But.....as far as fishing the Bullet wins, it is a lot better fishing boat than the Allison. I can't compare the 21' because I have never been in the Allison 21 but have been in the Bullet 21 and it is great.
Now this is just my opinion from having owned the two brands.

I went through the exact same thing, came down to a xb2003 or 20 bullet.I fish a ton (T's included) but opted for the Ally due to all I had found out about handleing/performance etc. and no wood, the fishability end of it I took a chance on (ie. smaller deck, walk around console, stability on TM) but honestly I have not found it to be an issue. It's no floating dock but the trade off's to gain awsome wind protection and the performance over shadow that.Having said all this if your a "big boy" the Bullet would likely be a better choice,I'm 6'1" 220lbs and have no issues moving around myself. The bottom line for me was I figured if I passed on the Ally I'd always wish and regret not getting one.

If you are ok with a 21 footer I love my XB-21 Bassport pro. Its the best bass boat I have ever owned or been in. If you are stuck on a 20 footer I would get the Bullet. Bullets are quite a bit more forgiving as well. At least thats what I've heard.

I'm in Thibodaux, about three hours away. If you want to come ride in a 2003, give me a call. I'll be more than happy to meet you around Morgan City and take you for a ride.

Rob, didn't I see you have yours up for sale? There ya go deville. I have wanted an Allison XB-21 BasSport 2+2 ever since I saw it debuted in B&WMag in 2003. Finally got one. And love it! All these guys are right and what I love about the Allison family of owners is they are honest guys.
If you are more into tournaments than anything else then look at Robs boat, the 2 seater. If you have a family and like recreation as well take a look at a 2+2. More move around room than you can imagine and tons of dry storage. The XB2003 is an awesome boat and so is the 21' XB Prosport. Looks like the XB2003 but has the side rod trays like on the 2+2.
Fun, huh? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/cold1.gif

Yeah, I put it up but my heart is not in it...we're wanting to get a larger bay boat and spend more time on the big pond. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif

Rob, When I first started hanging around on the Allison site I thought I remembered you wanting to sell you boat then....maybe a year ago......something about being in the military? Did I get that wrong?

You ought to give that Basscat dude (Billius???) a ring. He got out of his basser for a Baycat for a little while.....he's back in a new (to him) Puma http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
I understand though...sometimes that itch HAS to be scratched. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

HAHA I noticed that! With my luck, as soon as I sold the bass boat and bought a bay boat, we would move to Missouri!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif

Re: Thinking about a allison, need help! (candojoe)
Rob, Its tough to let go of a boat like ours. I put mine up for sale hoping to get something a little cheaper. I practically had it sold a couple of times and backed out both times. I just couldn't let it go for fear of never being able to find another boat I would like as well and I didn't know if I would be able to afford another one. They are truly special boats.
