OMS rebuild? Can it be done?
My engine J150GLEN 1992, seems to smoke a lot. Even on the XD-100 oil. I have done the oil usage test, and it will drop the level 1.5" in the hose in 3 clicks at idle, and it increases at WOT. I recall the spec to be, a drop of 1" in 5 clicks of the pump.
Can I get the parts and rebuild the OMS pump? Are the new ones an improved design since 1992?
Should I be looking at something else?
Thanks,
Rustyhook

if that is the original one yes they have done improvements. so go get brand new one. they used to sell the kits but to be honest if it is old ( 1992) the plastic and such may be a bit brittle and crack causing a leak or air getting in. a new OMC ( not from e-bay PLEASE!!!!!) vro is about 295 dollars to 315 dollars. easy to hook up you can do it your self.
