Re: xb-2003 and tournys (j10b)
Not sure what your asking and why you say a XB 2003 with a 200XS is out the window for tourneys? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eyes.gif If you are refering to the recommended horse power verse the fact the plate states the boat is "<U>not rated</U>" by the coast gard or the <U>manufacter</U>! There is a discussion about this in some previous threads on this board and other boards. I'm not sure what tourney circuits your fishing but you can check with your director and get his input. There have not been and ally's DQ'ed from the BFL or FLW circuits due to the wording of the plate that I am aware of! http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif Other Allison owners have ask there directors and they have been assured there is no problem as long as you have less than 250HP limited by the BFL and FLW rules. Not exactly sure this is what your asking or if this addresses your concerns?
As to the other boats claims of there speeds, ride and ecomomy; I would suggest you put them to the test and compare first hand. Many sales persons claim lots of things and they often are not true. In my opinion, Ally's are some of the best riding, best built, fastest and most efficent boats built. Almost all high performance boaters will tell you that. The only thing I can suggest is ride in them all and see for yourself before you purchase any. I think you will see for yourself the differances between the real high performance world and "cookie cutters" in quality, ecomony, etc.
Hope this helps. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif

Re: xb-2003 and tournys (BlueallyXB21)
The thread along with a few other threads in regard to this 90-150 for warranty purposes tag.
I was considering a 200XS, im really only looking for high 80's. But Im not buying a boat that some League is going to DQ me from because im not in a triton.
Re: xb-2003 and tournys (j10b)
Being DQ'ed would be the pits! If it were me, I would get in writing from the BFL or FLW, BASS or what ever circuits you plan to fish. Several have already taken these steps and no problems have been encountered with regard to Allison rating plates as they agree these boats are "not rated" by the manufacturer. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif Some folks have put scares in everyone, but the fact is, nobody has stated or implied that any Allison's have been DQ'ed from this issue in any circuit I know of. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif
There was a Bullet DQ'ed but only because it didn't have a plate on it at all. Bullets, Strokers, etc. are all so not rated or unlimited. As long as they have the plates they are told they will not have problems either.
Personally, I prefer not allow a fishing circuit to dictate what type of boat I choose to own or enjoy fishing from. I would just switch circuits I choose to fish, but that's just me! There are a lot of good circuits out there that aren't as sponsor indicted as BFL or the FLW circuits that I enjoy fishing. If what that ESPN coverage is what BASS is coming to I don't want any part of that! It looked like a Dog and Pony show to me. I thought the coverage/setup was terrible. They didn't even show all the weigh-in, many good anglers never got to the screen. They seen to have lost the focus of fishing and gotton into the acting business. Oh well, that's another subject, sorry for the side track. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
But the fact still remains there have been no Ally owners come forward about being DQ'ed due to HP rating plates. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif As you seen for other post, there are several out there.
Best of luck on your boat discesion and best of luck in the circuits! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif

Re: xb-2003 and tournys (BlueallyXB21)
Thats great. I just took your advice and emailed my favorite circuit ABA, Yeah I know, but being military I kinda like their concept, plus they help me out when I am deployed. I'll be fishing more BASS this year, but its hard to do from Southeast Asia:D
I do agree but I think Ikes little fit many be the wakeup call ESPN needs.
Re: xb-2003 and tournys (j10b)
You said you wanted to run in the high 80's? None of the boats you mentioned will run high 80's with a tourny load. You need a Bullet, Blazer, or a Stroker to acheive those speeds.

And that's the plain truth.
Re: xb-2003 and tournys (chad202)
so am allison doesnt run those speeds? You sure about that?
Re: xb-2003 and tournys (j10b)
Stanton ment other than an Ally, you'll need one of those three.
Re: xb-2003 and tournys (chad202)
my main concern was that if tournaments would let the ally then what is thepoint of buying one. My director will let me so Im gonna start my search.
