Hey Ed,
We ran the BasSport Pro yesterday & today, this boat handles, rides & drives like a dream. It ran the best of 83.5 mph with the owner & myself, he's arround 275 I'm 190 lbs., I feel there's more speed with a little more set up time, this same motor ran a ProSport XB-21 90 mph. Darris said the BasSport Pro is a little slower than the other XB-21's due to aerodynamics. Still pretty impressive, it takes a 250xs to run near this speed in 99.9% of the other 21 footers on the market.
wow- it sounds like the 2.5 is a good motor for this boat.
What is the horse power rating on the 2.5? whet type of jackplate and prop
are you running?
Did you try making a run without the owner grinning...... Might be a few cheap .10's there......haha

podge,
Mercury rates the 2.5xs @ 225hp I have not ran one on the dyno yet so I don't know the actual hp. The jack plate is 10" total set back, 26 F n R prop @ 6800 rpm's.
Your Boy didn't have to go to the bucket did he haha...Lee did this boat have a smart gauge? If so I think alot of people would be amazed on the MPG..
Hey Ed,
No bucket problems thank goodness.
We didn't check the mpg, just trying to get it dialed in & help him out driving the boat. I feel there's a lot more left in set up, will keep everyone posted.
