Anyone no how much I need for a 99 225 at full throttle and what should it be at idle
I have an 04 HO and it runs about 4 at idle and about 14 - 16 at WOT

2001 and later FICHTs used a low pressure high volume cooling system and thus the 14-16 psi at WOT.
Your '99 225 used the older style high pressure system and I believe it should run around 25psi or better.
Yep you can peg a 30 PSI gauge if you are low on the transom less than 18 is bad Juju. About 6-8 at idle.
This thing is on a Gambler 2200
I'd keep it close to 18# min. WFO, change prop or lower the plate sumptin. Keep it 18#+.
