I asked this question in the Mercury Engine Forum but got limited response. I hope it's ok to ask it here.
I'm really interested in the new Mercury 150 hp 4-stroke outboard. Do any of you guys own one and if so, what boat is it on? I would like to get some feedback on this power plant. Thanks.
I dont touch anything new from the motor companies for the first few years they are released. Maybe you happen to remember all the problem with the Optimax motors when they were first released or the Verado motors and the Ficht motors. Seems like these companies use us as guinea pigs to test there products out to see how well they work. I know they do there own research before the new motors are released, but there usually seems to be quite a few problems still. Seems to me like there has not been many problems with SHO motors, or atleast i am not hearing about it. It your money spend it how you want, and i am Merc guy.
