Evinrude 150 intruder alarm
My 150 intruder is running well, but when I push the throttle forward fast an alarm beeps momentairly it only does this sometimes though. And if the move the throttle forward slowly it does not sound. The last owner said it has done it for years. Any idea what it could be or why it does this? Motor seems to be running great and I just had a new stator put in and check out by a evinrude tech. Just curious

If your really slammin' it, you may be pulling too much vacuum on the fuel system. Check the fuel tank pickup, kink in the fuel hose, anti syphon valve. If it is in a bass boat and you have that little shut off valve in the tank line, get rid of it. Also replace the primer bulb, make sure all the fittings are 3/8", the hose is 3/8". Make sure the hose is not tie strapped down too tightly which can restrict the flow. If all this is good, check,or have a tech pull vacuum on the switch to make sure it is within specs. 4.5hgs will get you in the ball park. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
