OK, I know this is a bass site, but who has noodled for catfish? I really want to give it a try! Any advice (besides don't do it)? Thanks.

You'll stick your hands in a lot of under water holes before you find one that's holding a fish. Look for holes around clay banks and rocky shore lines.

This from a guy who has stuck his hand in a lot of holes.
It's illegal in Missouri, so I don't know nuthin' about it. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/popcorn.gif
i have done it once, and failed, and i was ok with that http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif The guy i was with got about a 55 pound flathead and the fight was on
Havent done it but my son wants to try it this year. In the fall on Lake Barkley( when the water is down) I have just started seeeing these wood boxes that are about 1 foot high, 3 feet wide and about 3 foot long along certain banks and in shallow water. It has a hole in one side. They have rocks piled on top of them. I think these are for noodling, because I have never seen them in the past 30 years and now they are popping up all over. I have taken a few pictures of them with the water down and plan on letting my son stick his hand in there this summer. We'll see.
Never stuck my hand in a log or a hole in the bank. I took some 8" pvc pipe cut in 30" lengths, closed off one end and drilled half inch holes all around it so air would not get trapped when I sank them. I have grabbed a bunch of cats but never anything over about 6 lbs. I do it for the fun and never keep the cats I catch. The way a blue cat bites in the 6 lb class I would hate to grab a 15 or 20 lb blue.
No way no how. I'm chicken. I watched them do it on Dirty Jobs. The guy said he grabbed a muskrat one time and it tore him up. If I can't see what I'm grabbing a hold of I don't want any part of it. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif
We have good luck noodling boat ramps! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

Amen! Now if someone else sticks there hand in there first and confirms it's not a Turtle or rat I MIGHT be able to do it. Other then that I'd be scared to death.
