At least 2 tornadoes today in the mountains of eastern KY which is rare beyond belief. Just reported on the news that West Liberty KY has only had 2 reported tornado touchdowns in 50 years and they have had 2 strong tornadoes hit that town in the last 3 days. Salyersville KY has never had a tornado touchdown in recorded history and they just had a tornado touchdown inside the city limits. Still waiting on the damage reports but early reports saying they have suffered extensive damage.
It's drizzling here today...no tornadoes. I am grateful for that, but I am worried about all y'all back there. Saw the aftermath of a tornado near Winchester TN back in the '50's, when I was 5 or 6. Sixty years later, I can still picture the scene in Decherd, with locomotives off the tracks and on their sides, other rolling stock farther from the tracks, and 2x4's all over town.
