recently replaced my plugs in my '04 225ho & it seems to have a little miis at idle. i gapped them at .30 & indexed them properly ( i think i did, anyway). runs fine at wot & midrange. starts fine & has never smoked at all (xd100 oil). any thoughts?

What temperature are the cylinder heads at after an extended idle?
Just had to replace the reed block gaskets on my 03 200 HO. Had a slight miss that got worse. One of the gaskets was missing about 1 1/2 inches. I was going to decarb it and the lower port throttle body blew back at me. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif Easy to check.
It only did it at idle when in gear !!!
sorry, but if it takes anything much more mechanical than changing the plugs, i'm very handicapped. do you mean hot/cold to the touch? the slight miss starts as soon as i start it, not only after long idles. the reason i changed the plugs was it started this slight miss & it had been a little over a year since new plugs. the old ones were very black/burnt & gapped out to anywhere from 35-45. new plugs are actually a little worse than the old ones.
If the idle is better when it is in gear, don't worry about it. If the idle is worse in gear, you may want to get a tech to check the exhaust pressure tube in the exhaust housing to make sure it isn't carboned up. You can try to trim it up a bit to relieve some of the exhaust pressure. If it idles better trimmed up a bit, then I would get it checked. If all the plugs were looking even on the burn, then fuel and ignition should be good. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
