Re: WORRIED (Nowater2shallow)
If the boat originally came from TN it doesn't have a title for anything. He is correct about just an ID card. To me it sounds like the trailer was from another state that requires them to have titles and some bank has the title for it. Sounds a little fishy to me but maybe someone will have some better knowledge. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/popcorn.gif
Re: WORRIED (Nowater2shallow)
im wondering how there would be a lein on the trailer ,and not the boat also..... unless, of course, the trailer is newer and under a seperate loan.....

Re: WORRIED (Nowater2shallow)
Bad Bad MO JO. He can't sell a trailer to you with a lean on it and that means he does not own it.
Re: WORRIED (ol man river)
b/c you have to register the trailor to get a tag ? thats the only thing i can think of ga you dont get a title either
Re: WORRIED (Nowater2shallow)
I might also be worried about the massive snow storm that is being predicted I saw an the news this morning http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif
Re: WORRIED (javelinbill)
I would get more info from him or the dealer.
TN does not title boat, outboards or trailers so no biggie with that. Get a bill of sale on all 3 items stating no liens and you should be fine.
Let me know if we can help. What dealer? That may make a difference.

Re: WORRIED (Nowater2shallow)
Paperwork issues are a pain and can take ages to work out. I wouldn't buy anything with a lean on it, he can't sell what he doesn't own. An issue like that would bug me out and I'd pass myself.
Re: WORRIED (Nowater2shallow)
Just meet at the bank and make sure the lien is satisfied before you leave.
Re: WORRIED (MasterCASTER!)
Master, I talked to the BMV. You don't have to weigh the trailer as long as there is no way it is over 4k pounds. You just have to get a plate and tags. As for the motor part, it must be the county you are in. I called Washington County clerks office. I just have to have the year, make, model of the boat and the same for the motor plus HP. I also have to have a notarized bill of sale and the I'd card from Tennessee. That and the whopping 260 bucks and I am done!
Re: WORRIED (Nowater2shallow)
Do not leave without he bank settling the lien. They can actually repo the trailor from you. Don't forget to get the bill of sale notarized. They require it in most counties in Ohio. While you are down in TN do you want to pick my boat up too. I am supposed to go get min March 17th in Waynesboro. Just sayin'...while younare down there...

<table width="90%" cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0 align=center><tr><td>Quote, originally posted by Nowater2shallow »</td></tr><tr><td class="quote">leaving at 2am saturday morning to go to TN to look and hope to buy a bullet talked to the guy today, boat is at a dealer, and asked about a title and he told me that do to the boat being in TN that it does not have one and it has a boat id card and with abill of sale that it will not be a problem to get a title in OH ...... BUT we talked about the trailer and he said that the bank has the title for it a menchend a LEAN on the trailer what is you oppinion am not sure what to do the boat looks great in the pics and the price is fair http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif </td></tr></table>
Boat is at a dealer.....BUT is it there on consignment, or is it the dealers boat??? If it is the dealers boat and it STILL has a lein then said dealer is not on the up and up. It would be unlawful to sell it since technically the bank "owns" said trailer, and probably the boat and motor as well (unless it is a recent trade and the dealer has done a payoff, and waiting for the lein release to show up). No bank would loan money on just a trailer unless someone had to buy a replacement trailer and needed to finance it. Someting dont add up here...... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/popcorn.gif
