The motor was running fine i was cruising along at 50 mph and then it sounded as if i had fouled a plug. When i checked the plugs they where old so i replaced them. I took the boat out today and i am not getting spark on the right side of the motor. I decided to look for anything obvious, i found the fuse on the motor was nasty white and corroded. Has any one had this problem? i still dont no if its fixed its 35 degrees out and dark so i will have to wait until tomorrow to test it.
Read rule #1. Knowing whether it is a Johnson or Evinrude would help us know whether it is carbed or Ficht.

It could be a faulty shift interrupt switch.
so the solution seemed to be the shift interrupt switch.
Did you have to replace it?
Yeah i replaced the switch the bracket and the spring. Thanks Bassmeister. However now i seem to have a problem with fuel. The primer bulb never gets hard. I will replace it monday. The boat idles fine and even gets up to about 5 mph, but if I try to get on plane it will die instantly. So i am going to get the new primer bulb fuel filter and check out all my connectors for air leaks. If anyone has had this problem any tips would be great.
Check to be sure the spark advance timer base under the flywheel moves with the throttle lever and is not stuck or sticking.
