Casing across the derrick
Looks like its going to be a long night out here on the rig. 30" casing fell out of the derrick this afternoon. Luckly nobody was hurt, but it is going to be quite a process getting these 6 joints back in their home.

Seeing pics like this sure make me miss the oilfields.
I worked on some small rigs compared to those things. Would love to be on the deck of one of these and see the operation. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif

Strung up like they are there, about 6 tons apiece.
Im on a deepwater rig about 150 miles off the coast of Rio, Brazil. You guys ever want to see some real monkey rigging, you should see how we get them back into the fingerboard. There will be hydraulic tuggers, ropes, cables, all kinds of good stuff, strung all around that derrick in another hour, and then we pull and pray. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif

Depending upon which company you're drilling for: there'll be a two week study of the near accident resulting in a new and more stupid way to handle casing.
