hi everyone. thinking about purchasing a 115 or a 130 etec and wondering if it's worth stepping up to a 130. i read somewhere on this forum that the 115 is one of the best in the etec lineup . how many mph average gain with 130 ? i'm going to run it on a 18 ft aluminum single console . price differance is $1000. more for 130. thanks
I'd go with the 130.When I ordered a 130 last fall I had to step up to the 150 because the 130 was delayed.After seeing the performance of the 150 I would have been dissapointed with the 20 hp loss. This engine cruises at 38 mph at 4000 rpmwith no effort. I'm running a Lund 1700 Fisherman at 1350 lbs if that helps.
I would say a solid 2 mph gain, maybe 3 if you're lucky. It will likely be worth it in the long run. It will help resale a little if that ever becomes an issue, since it is an 18 ft boat
I don't see a 130 on the evinrude web page. Do they make a 130?

If I remember correctly I thought they were droping the 130 from the line up??
Back in December I had to switch to the 150 from the 130 I ordered in October because it definately was cancelled for this production run. They said back then it would be out for the 08 run.
So is the 130 available?

As of today no its not available. I hear it will be in the 2008 lineup.
