LSS-1 Mounting on Ranger 350V
Let me start by saying I was OK with the size of my boat until I got my LSS-1 today and realized I really don't have a good place to mount the box.
The only place I can think to mount it is under the console. In order to do that I am going to have to choose one of three options.
- Drill through the front or side of the console and have screws with trim washers showing on the outside. (I really don't want to do this)
- Epoxy a cutting board or something to the inside of the console and screw the box directly into that (Not sure if epoxy will bond well in that application)
- Fabricate a bracket to mount it to the floor using Aluminum angle and 1/8" or 1/4" sheet stock and screw it into the floor. (While it would be standing up, I think it would probably get in the way)
Does anyone have any other suggestions? Does anyone have pictures of an LSS-1 or 2 box mounted in a 350V?
On to the Transducers. My plan was to epoxy the 2D transducer in the hull and then mount the SS transducer on the step. Now that I am questioning the size of my boat, I am not sure I want to do anything permanent. I am thinking of just mounting both transducers on the back of the transom old school style. I already have a bracket from an old Lowrance unit that was on the boat before I got it. I would just need to mount the SS transducer on the back right next to it...
Input would really be appreciated...
