Re: 1996 200 Vindicator (AZYoungGun)
I own a 97 225 and have had very few problems with the motor. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/praying.gif In 5 years I have only had to change the egnition switch and recently the VRO pump.
And yes!!! This motor is cold blooded. Being form Minnesota this can be a bit of an issue. I have never had the motor not start even at temps under 30 degrees. But she sure does bark when the temps are cold!!
Re: 1996 200 Vindicator (Chriss)
Welcome,
If you decide to buy it there are a few "fixes" for your motor to keep it more reliable. Generally they are very dependable and run great. They do like the fuel but don't let that scare you as you can save fuel buy getting the hull on pad and backing off to the sweet spot. Cold natured not really if you follow the correct starting procedure and if the motor is properly maintained and in tune.

I own a 1997 200 vindicator and it has been a great motor. I sure hope this don't jinx it http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif . It likes gas but like champioNman said there is a sweet spot that is not bad. It is a little cold natured until you get the hang of how long to choke it.
