My 04 225 ho dies after ideling long distances. It happens after ideling out of a marina, I can get going full throttle and then it will die. Eveytime it happens I have to pump the prime bulb for a minute because it is soft. I replaced the bulb with a new one from evinrude but it didnt fix the problem.
Check the plastic "T" that comes from the oil pump to the fuel line. Mine was cracked at the junction of the 1/8th line and only leaked a little oil, but would not keep a hard bulb or allow long idleing.

Might also be a weak fuel lift pump. If the "T" fitting is o.k. You might prime the bulb up before the throttle up and see if it comes up o.k. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
I would guess the feul lift pump ... they had a problem with it and have been replacing them ... had the same problem with mine last summer.
