I am TERRIBLE (tournament Pool 13 Sunday June 7th).
Well, that sucked (for us anyway). Had my worst showing in a tournament since 2007 (which happened to be on Pool 13 as well). Dead last with one tiny keeper. I just cannot find fish on that pool. I was supposed to pre fish with Wags again this year but being absolutely swamped at work killed that idea. So, I decided to hit Spring Lake, anyone who was out there saturday may have seen me stranded on a huge flat. I didn't remember how to get back there and payed the price, ended up pushing off the flat and decided to fish the southern end on tournament day. Well, took a chance (a stupid chance http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/sick.gif ) and ran down there at blast off. Thunderstorm moved in and scared me out of there, ran through some of the worst water I've seen since Pool 19. Spent more time airborne than in the water. Figured I made the right choice for safety reasons as it was BAD. Well, wind set down and it turned out to be a nice day http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eyes.gif . Stuck aroung Sabula and just stunk it up the rest of the day. I realize that is one of the best Pools on the river but it has my number. I just simply don't know my way around it well enough. As for everyone else, they did pretty good. First place had nearly 15 lbs. Big bass was a nice 4.77. We went from first place overall after two first place finishes to second place with that last place finish. Gonna be a long year I think. I just have not been on the water enough this year. Can't get into any rythm. I keep waiting for things to calm down between work, home, and everything else but it ain't happening! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif

Don't get down. Pool 13 can be frustrating at times. Except for early spring most tournaments will have some good bags at the top and then usually quite a few blanks. You need to spend a lot of time on that water to consistently do well. With changing water levels and clarity you really need to follow the fish around to stay on them. You probably didn't finish in the best area of the pool either.
Re: I am TERRIBLE (dark shades)
I didn't finish in the best area, start in the best area, or ever get near the best area. I just shot myself in the foot from the word go http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/embarassed.gif . Truly an emberrassing outing for me. I really need to get comfortable on that pool. It's just far enough away that I never make it up there. All that backwater can be intimidating too, all looks the same when you only go up there once a year. Hopefully things will settle down for me next year and I can pre fish a lot more. The weekend before the tournament I was heading to southern Arkansas so I never made it up to 13 to pre fish and on saturday I spent most of the day trying to get the feel of the new boat (first time I had it on the water http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif ). Just disheartening when ya know that pool has so much to offer and then ya feel lost come tournament day http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/sick.gif

I'm so frigging swamped at work I just couldn't get away last week, looks like this is going to be the norm too. I don't see any end in sight for this workload http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
