Oil leaks when motor is up travel ready. Oil leaks into the back of the boat. Idles like a dream and top end like a dream, after idle in low gear it is missing? Can anyone help me? I'm trying to learn more to fix these issues myself.

125 (4 CYL.) Mercury Outboard 1B000001 & Up Oil Injection Components Diagram and Parts Parts 6 and 7 are probably missing.
thay is common mine did the same thing that is oil that was but burned before motor was shut down. Mine did it all the time if I did a lot lo idleing right before I put it on the trailer. I have a 08 115 merc carb motor.
Why is it sputtering and skipping at low gear?
I have the same motor only a 2003. When you trim the motor up to put the transom saver on....it will empty the fuel/oil mixture from the carbs. This is where you are seeing the oil in the back of your boat. It's normal. Just pump the bulb until firm and hit the primer on the key.... then pump the bulb again..put the throttle in forward nuetral and fire the motor. Make sure the motor is trimmed level. Let idle for a min. and you are ready to go.
