12 Mile!

Heading out after work tomorrow. Will pick my son up in Des Moines and head on down to Creston. We're gonna spend all day saturday fishing on 12 Mile. We didn't have ANY good days fishing this summer and I really wanted to make the most of one more chance and I figured 12 Mile was the best bet! Take back a couple 12 packs of empty pop cans and you would! Seriously, I don't have any money to throw around. But when an opportunity arrises to take the son fishing, I'll make whatever sacrifices need to be made. The weather was warm and the Hawks are TERRIBLE so I hit 12 Mile yesterday. I was able to find the one thing that blows more than Iowa football right now..... the wind http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthdown.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthdown.gif . White caps and gusting winds from sun-up to sundown. Kept us off the bank we really wanted to fish. Nevertheless, we did catch about 5 keepers among the countless little ones. Without a doubt this was the most fish I've ever caught this late in the year (I'm not a big fan of fall fishing). Caught them on buzzbaits, rat-l-traps, cranks, spinnerbaits, and sammies. I think i could have thrown a beercan with hooks and caught fish. Simply could not fish the banks and coves I wanted becuase of the wind so I think really missed out on the quality fish. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
