what prop should I be spinning????
I have a 2009 188vx Ranger with a 150HP Yamaha HPDI. (I do not have a jackplate) I am only running 5100RPM and my top speed is 46MPH (gps). Everyone says this boat and setup should be mid 55-60MPH. The prop is a 21-M.
The motor is fine (just had it in for winterizing and such). Everyone I talk to (accept my ranger dealer) says I have the wrong prop. Any suggestions on what prop I should be spinning?

what hole is your engine mounted in?
Re: what prop should I be spinning???? (pschloss)
Check for full pull on the throttle linkage... You should have a 23M and spin it to 5800 ish... If your only spinning a 21M to 5100 and 24 mph, you have an issue.
Re: what prop should I be spinning???? (brianranger188vx)
the motor has 4 mounting holes and mine is mounted 2nd from the top.............Hey brianranger188vx, did your boat/motor come from your dealer with a 23-m on it? Everyone tells me I should have a 23-m (except my dealer)
If you can give me some advice on what I should be doing please feel free to e-mail me

may need to raise the motor up one hole, that would raise your rpms, mine came with a 23m
