No Oil horn/light 2006 200 E-Tec HO
Rudetech/Rusty
Our 2006 200 HO about once a night gets a No Oil horn and light. Shut motor off, hook computer up, re prime oil system, clear code and it runs fine for the rest of the night. This has happened the last two nights, seems to happen when engine is under heavier load (pulling 6 skiers) only. Any thoughts? I cannot visually see any air bubbles. It is using oil based on the tank going down and the faint smell.
Thanks,
EZ

Next time you hook up the computer, post the software number and the revision number that is shown.
I assume you have a multi-engine rig when you mentioned 6 skiers, is the other motor OK?

Yep, lets check the map, see if we need to enhance. Are you seeing a lot of air in the oil lines,or just tiny bubbles. You can compare it to one of the other engines. Give some numbers. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif

What diagnostic software do you have?
With the latest and greatest software you can monitor the oil pressure and oil pulses or lack there of. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif

Sure now you tell me to check the software version :-) after I just got back in...........
I re primed the system tonight and ran it at all speeds pulling one to 6 skiers and no horns. I saw one tiny bubble yet but it was really really small. It ran great tonight for 2 hours and is now beyond the break in period. This software was brand new in June 2005.
This boat is a single 200 HO E-Tec, we can pull 10-12 with a single big block, up to 30+ with twin big blocks. The twin 250's should get wet this weekend for the first time. Due to the back log we just got (3) 2006 DI 150's for our triple since we were out into late June for the E-Tec 150's since we are promo customers and they understandably want to get paid retail customers their motors first. The DI's will be fine. I'll post some pics when the 250's get wet and we're mounting the 150 DI's this weekend.
Thanks for the help, I'll check the software version when I hook it up to the 250's this weekend.

There is an upgrade to the software that can be down loaded "BY DEALERS" off dealer port, I think it came out last month.

Now thats pullin' a load! Very tiny bubbles are ok. Large bubbles are not. If you can,try to verify movement without repriming. Look at it before you start the engine, if the horn activates, gently apply pressure to the oil bulb also. If it is soft(this would be a very unusual scenario) it may be a sticking check valve in the bulb or the tank itself. Make sure there are no restictions where the lines enter the engine. I have also seen 1 case of a peice of hose "flapping" at the connector where the oil line connects to the motor out side the engine. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif

By the way, this is a boat that we put together for a club out east last week. Twin 225 E-Tecs. That baby can haul the mail!
