Lower Unit Install

Hey guys i removed my lower unit at the end of last season to get my skeg repaired over the winter, skeg is now repaired. I want to re-install it but the boat is at the cottage and the lower unit is at my house, i want to go get the boat and do the install at home so i can start getting the boat ready and do some other stuff to it before the ice is all out, my question is can i drive the boat without the lower unit on it or is there anything up in the mid section that i should be worried about falling out or moving around. sorry prob a stupid question but better safe then sorry.....Thanks

There is nothing that can fall out. I would duct tape a large towel around it or at least a garbage bag to keep dirt and debris out. Other than that secure the steering rod or steering wheel to keep it stable.

Thanks thats what i thought, just wasn't sure if there was anything that could fall out where the drivshaft engages http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif like some sort of bearing or something when trailering with all the bouncing around.
