has anyone went from a carb motor to etec motor and noticed a big savings in fuel . i need a new motor and wanted bbc input on how much to expect. my motor is worth rebuilding (3500-4000) but new motor has warranty and better mpg,any help or comments. thanks andy. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/sick.gif
I don't have an E-TEC, but my DI is much better than the old carb 225 and sips oil. The E-TEC will be a little better.
I switched from a Yamaha 175 carbed model on my old Bullet to the 225HO Etec. The savings in oil and fuel is making about half of my boat payment. I got 1-2mpg with the Yamaha, right now I'm averaging 4.5-5mpg with the Etec on a much larger, heavier boat.
