Looking for advice...what to do and what it's worth.
So last week my LU went on my 07 250 HPDI. I had the oppourtunity to put a new motor on my boat so I took it.
So now I have this motor with the blown LU, along with the controls, cables, oil tank and Gauges for a Ranger, and I'm trying to determine the best course of action.... try to sell as is? Replace LU, then sell?
What would it be worth in each condition? As is vs. Repaired?

What will get the most money is a good question. I just don't know if you will be able to sell it at all in it's current condition. How would you convince a buyer it can run at all?
I think you are going to have to fix it so you can demonstrate that it runs. there is little sales appeal to an engine that requires major repairs.
Then again you can try it "as is" and see if you get any bites. If not then fix it and take your chances. I am sure that hours on the engine will also matter.
Good Luck
