1992 Johnson 200 Limited Edition...idle RPM???
I took the boat out this weekend, first time I ever had her out, and I noticed she idles high..around1200-1300. Is this normal till it warms up or is that just the way it is? I was told it has a high idle circuit till the thermostat opens up then it will drop to around 800 or so? It was too damn cold out to run her so she didn't see much running time. Also would it be wise to have this engine decarboned? It has 500 hours on her.
thanks! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif

It is normal to have a high idle RPM until the motor warms up, this is called Quick Start.
It would be a good idea to decarb your motor, purchase a can of Bomb Engine Tuner and follow the instructions on the can.
