97 200 hp lower unit seals

I have a friend who has a 97 200 hp. He put a new water pump in it the other day and test ran it on ears. He put new oil in the lower unit before he test ran it and after the test run he drained the oil and it had lots of water.

Question, under the water pump there is a seal housing. It has two seals in it. Do the seals go back to back or both the same direction. I can not tell by looking at the manuel. The picture looks like both are going the same direction. My Mercury seals go back to back.
