Maybe the powerpack/engine electrical control. Sounds like it lost electrical power. Anything fuel related would have give you a sputter or two before it died and a catastrophic failure would have made some sort of bang or thump. Pull the plugs and make sure they look OK, then maybe do a compression and spark test.

My buddies 225 hpdi did the same thing last year. Turned out to be the Stator and rectifier.

It was the 20 amp fuse for the O2 sensor heater that was the culprit, now I need to find the cause for the blown fuse if there is one. Any suggestions?

For now, I'd replace it and carry a spare. If you replace it and the new one blows right away, then start checking all of the wires for a short to the block. If it doesn't blow right away, it may have been fatigue.
