Oil tank problem

I'm hoping someone has had this problem and can help me out. Any Yamaha mechanics are especially sought and, by the way, this is a 225HPDI.

I did a major rearrange of my batteries and oil reservoir this weekend to add a battery for a new 36 volt trolling motor. In the process I had to disconnect all the batteries and move the oil reservoir. Well, today my oil alarm went off and I found I was not pumping oil from the reservoir to the engine mounted tank. My only thoughts are that either there is a restriction in the oil line or I somehow don't have power to the pump in the reservoir.

Am I right that the power for the pump in the reservoir comes off the engine and not a separate supply from the battery? If so, where might I look to see where I might have knocked it loose by taking the cowling on and off (changed plugs while I was doing everything else)? Lots of questions I know but I'm lost. I haven't had a chance yet to look things over but I thought I'd see if anyone has any suggestions other than to take it to the shop. It is under warranty but not for cockpit troubles.

If it were my boat, I'd start with the tank mounted oil pump. I'd check it by using the manual oil pump switch up by the engine mounted tank. If it doesn't work, next I would check the pump itself. Use a volt meter and make sure you are getting power to it. If you aren't getting power, check your wiring connection. If you are getting power and the pump works, I'd check the inline filter just past the oil pump in the oil supply line.

When you moved the tank, did you have to disconnect the oil lines? if so, you may try bleeding the oil pump. When I replaced my oil pump, I had to bleed the air out of the pump before it would work.

I checked a bit ago and the switch does turn on the pump but I'm not sure I can see the level rising but I'm not leaving the switch on for very long and I have no idea how fast it should pump in oil. Funny thing though, the level in the engine mounted tank hasn't gone down as much as I think it should have since I manually filled it. Could it be just one of those things and now it is fixed?

I did not have to disconnect the oil lines but I moved the tank around quite a bit so that might be a factor. I guess I'll just use it again and see how things go.
