Check Engine Light and Horn going off
I have a 2000 Fitch 200 on my Jav R20. The check engine light and horn go off sometimes, mainly when I'm coning down off plane but not only at those times . This motor has never given me any probs in the past. Do'es anyone have any possible answers to this problem? Can they plug it in and tell what the prob is? Thanks.

Welcome to the boards, Mr. Todd! http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
One of the techs will probably respond tonite. I wouldn't run it again until you find the problem. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Check Engine Light and Horn going off (tt)
Any time the CHECK ENGINE light comes on, an error code is put in the computer's memory. Using the diagnostic software and a laptop or PDA, a knowlegeable person can "pull" the codes and find out what the malfunction was, then correct it.
The CHECK ENGINE light could be anything from water in the fuel filter, a sticking shift interrupter switch, a bad barometric pressure sensor, or a number of other items. If it were a major problem, the motor would have slowed to around 2500 rpm and would not go faster until the problem was repaired.
See a QUALIFIED tech to find out the problem. Do not put it off.
Re: Check Engine Light and Horn going off (SEAHORSE)
Thanks guys for the help. After 2.5 weeks (SLACKERS and busy) and $219.00 the shop fixed my Rude. It was the water seperator senser. I sure would like to have the software for this motor. Anyone know if I can get it somewhere and how much.
Thanks
