My dealer told me 1 quart, but should that fill enough to come out the top plug? I had to change my lower unit oil because I had a gasket leaking and it took a full quart but it did not come out the top plug hole, Is this good to go or do I need to top it off?
I'd fill until it came out of the top. It's probably another 6 or 7 ounces.

Yep, needs a little more than a quart! I'd top it off if I were you.
