Re: 200 vs 200ho e-tec (keysboat)
how big about are you pushing? the 200 ho is made to push larger boats that need more umph at the bottom & mid range while under load & the smaller 200 is made where you need to watch your weight & is generally made for pushing lighter faster boats.

Re: 200 vs 200ho e-tec (keysboat)
I have a 1994 26 intrepid with twin 200 merc carbs now. Maybe 3800 pds dry without engines. Intrepid told me 200 or 225 four strokes are out because of weight. Currently I run at about 38-39 mph cruise at 4000 rpm, 1.7-1.8 mpg and about 51mph wide open.
Re: 200 vs 200ho e-tec (keysboat)
key...even the larger e-tec 200's will work on that boat as they are more than 120 lbs lighter than twn. 4 strokes. if you could get by with them that what i would go with but if they say you need to shave more weight off the small block e-tecs are over 330 lbs lighter than the 4 strokes. i think the larger e-tecs would be the best comprimise of weight & power but you may want to run that by intrepid. good luck http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
