Oil coming from small weep hole in foot
Johnson faststrike 150 1996. I leave my motor tilted outside and this morning I had a small drip coming out of the tiny hole in the lower unit just in front of the 4 slanted water intake holes. The oil is clean and green, just like the oil in my mix resevoir. Never had this happen before, but I don't know motors either. This hole is about 2/3 of the way up between the bottom and top oil fill plugs on the foot. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks Kyle

You can take a wiff of it and make sure it is tcw oil, gear lube has a putrid nrotten egg smell. The hole is for water releif in the exhaust housing. Some times a little oil leaks into the pan area from the power head , makes its way down the driveshaft to the top of the gearcase at the water pump area out the weep hole. Usually only shows up when tilted up, otherwise usually goes out the exhaust. Look for the leak at the OMS pump or it may come out of the carbs when tilted. Good luck.

Looks like Rudetech was right. My motor mechanic dropped the foot. No water inside. Repaced seal near shaft and pressure tested. He said he thought it came from above like Rudetech says......Seal and labor $75..peace of mind..priceless...Now it's off to the lake. thanks to everyone who replied.
