You're right, that's almost 3 hours a year. Ummm, 27hrs. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
Oh yea, that's MUCH better! I mean, there's NO WAY it's been ran more that just a couple of minutes each time out. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
What about my OX66? You gotta plug into the ECU right? I've never had it done. I'd be curious.
Only the HPDI's can be checked.. I have an hour meter on mine from day one.
When I bought mine this year from a little lady in NJ she said that her and her husband only really used the outboard motor for the first year fishing tournaments and after that it was only used on a local pond(it was on it's 3rd trolling motor). She gave me all the original sales receipts to go with it. She said the old Yamahammer probably only had about 100hrs on it. With a little luck and some good preventative maintenance I should get quite a few good years out of this one. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/praying.gif

No kidding? Well alrighty then.
I have kinda the same situation with my boat that the guy I bought it from was typically on the motor only twice a day and that was a few miles to get his spot, then spend the whole day fishing structure on the MinnKota, and then on the big motor back to the ramp. He had to install a charger because he spent so little time on the big motor, he wasn't charging his batteries enough. He bought it new in the fall of '03, was going through a divorce one year he had it, and was overseas on business another year, so it's only got '05, '06 and part of '07 on it.
Take good care of it and it will last. My 87 ProV was probably well ito the thousands of hours when it came apart. And at 6K what happened was ugly http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
