04 Yami 250 Vmax HDPI - Whistling Noise - Sounds like a Super Charger--

All, I was fishing a club tournament yesterday and I was running by my buddy (LargeMouth Lou - Bullet Moderator) and said that my motor was whistling real loud like it had a supercharger on it, what would that be? He said maybe a compressor or something of that sort? Thoughts? It is an 04 Vmax HDPI. It runs good and all gauges look good... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eyes.gif

Mine did that one time and it was the lower unit ( no oil ) so check that if you find nothing on the top side

Let me make sure I clear something up, Lou was actually sitting still LOL, there is ZERO way for me to pass that boat! LOL.

My 07 250 did the same thing. The tuner actually burnt down which dumped the exhuast gas on top of the lower unit. Eventually the oil heated up, pressure built up and the weakest link gave. It was my prop shaft seal. Bad deal was mine took a dump running on plane. Take it to your mechanic and see if it has any oil left in the lower unit. When they pulled the LU pieces of the tuner fell onto the ground. While you have it there have them double check the tuner if they can. They will have to look up in the down housing with a flashlight. My mechanic acted like he had never heard of that happening. Then afterward he told me he had. I wasn't happy.

Never mind, I actaully did some research and found out that you were talking about the Exhaust tuner... I will do exactly what you told me! Thanks buddy! I love this place!
