Gents,
I was at Toledo Bend over the weekend and spoke with a guy who lost a prop while on the lake. He had a spare with him and made the change on the water.
I've not removed my propeller yet. What's the best tooling for doing so? I had a bad experience with those yellow "plastic" prop wrenches. Is it best just to keep a deep-well socket and breakover bar in the boat? Do you need the 2x4 to wedge the prop? Is there a hub that I need to carry as well?

I use the yellow T&H wrench but you can keep a socket and bar in the boat. The nut is only torqued to 55 pounds so you don't need alot. You can carry a block or find a piece on of limb on the bank. If you get stranded you can come up with some pretty creative ideas to get you going again.
Don't forget if you carry a spare prop to have an extra set of washer, nut, and cotter pin. Thats if you lose the whole thing.
Probably not a bad idea to have extra parts just in case you drop a piece in the water.
