My friend has a 2004 yamaha 150 pro v that the tachometer just stoped working. Is there away to check the tach or what is the best way to figure out whats wrong.

Is it getting power? Did it work ok, then just quit?
he said it was working fine and just quit
Ok, check the power wire to it to see if it is getting "juice". If there's juice going to it, then the internal parts are probably bad, but I've never had one just stop working, usually it acted "funny" for a while first.
ok thanks ill check the power. will it have power when you torn the key on or does the motor have to be running?
