conflicting posts on breakin on Yamaha carb motors (extra oil added issue)....
Not breaking in mine, first owner already did that for me, but I'm posting this because, after doing some research on the oil use on the VMax carb motors, and oil adjustment issue, I found that there's ALOT of people out there that actually think that these VMax carb motors are built to double oil during the breakin period on their own.????? Then they are to be "adjusted" to use less oil after breakin. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eyes.gif
Not the case. I would have known this, if I had an owners manual. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/glasses.gif I decided to go to the Yamaha website, and found how to download the manual, and in it, it states to "add" the extra oil during breakin. Then after breakin, to quit adding the extra 50:1 mix in the tank. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif

Motor has had ringfree in it since day 1, after breakin! Along with an occasional shot of Seafoam since I've owned it. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
